Ex-ABU VC, Prof. Abdullahi Mahdi Dies at 77
A renowned historian, Mahdi was the 9th Vice Chancellor of ABU

Former Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Professor Abdullahi Mahdi has passed on after a brief illness. He died at the age of 77.
Prof. Mahadi, a renowned historian, an accomplished educationist, and distinguished Abusite was the 9th Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
He was also the pioneer Vice Chancellor of Gombe State University (GSU), Gombe, the founder of Mahdi Foundation, the Vice Chancellor Gombe state University of Science and Technology – Kumo, Gombe State.
His funeral prayer (janazah) is scheduled to take place by 4pm on Saturday at Emir’s Palace, Gombe.
