HOLIDAY SEASON: CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF SENDS WARM WISHES TO TROOPS, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO THEIR WELFARE
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has conveyed warm festive greetings to all officers, soldiers, and their families as they celebrate Christmas and prepare for the New Year 2025.
In his message, Lieutenant General Oluyede commended the dedication and sacrifices of troops deployed across various operational theaters and peacekeeping missions, particularly those unable to celebrate with their loved ones due to duty demands. He highlighted the profound appreciation of Nigerians and international partners for the efforts of the Nigerian Army in safeguarding lives and property.
The COAS encouraged personnel to remain disciplined, focused, and loyal to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He underscored the importance of maintaining professionalism, patriotism, and a commitment to duty while ensuring strict adherence to apolitical conduct and respect for civil authority.
He also paid tribute to fallen heroes, including the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja CFR, and prayed for the repose of their souls. He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the families of the fallen and the injured troops, emphasizing that their well-being remains a top priority under his leadership.
The Army Chief expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, for his steadfast support and strategic guidance. He assured the nation of the Nigerian Army’s continued dedication to protecting the country’s territorial integrity and national interests.
Lieutenant General Oluyede concluded his message by wishing all personnel a joyful Christmas celebration and a peaceful, prosperous New Year.
