ON THE TAG OF EXCELLENCY AND HONOURABLE.
By Taiye Olaniyi
What a noble emblem that designates he in she or she in him that wears the tag, "His/ Her Excellency" or "Honourable this/or that".
In the land of the cultured, integrities associated with being designated,
" Excellency" or "Honourable" is plural in nature.
One amongst many is to serve and not to be served.
To have the consciousness of the Creator at the sight of money but not to be caught stealing when conscience dawns like the early morning sun shining on all in God's creation.
When excellency and honorable are used as tags to depict, describe and designate one amongst fellow humans, no matter how with pomp and pageantry the accolades, the sane will remain in silence and figure "Deservedness," the insane," carry the head " beyond the horizon of being "mere mortal."
At a public gathering, in silos of the isolated self, selflessness, saintliness, selfishness, and sinfulness take the cardinal points of heart there is, and then the spoken words of the Creator like our progenitor Adam in the Garden of Eden: "What are you doing in your position, how are others faring by who and what you are?"
In Today's world especially here in Nigeria: "Too many people are suffering, too many people are dying. Too few people get everything while too many people get nothing...."
War in the east, the war in the west. War up north, war down south" Wars, their rumors and skirmishes.
In a time like this when bloodshed is the vogue, the fashion, and fanciful fancy, are you an "excellency" making excellent of a time?
Honorable giving honor to whom is due, respecting the sanctity of human life?
You rounding around the corners of life are you a loom, a boom, or doom to others?
Listen and listen attentively, for every thought, word, and action is an equal reward in Karma.
But note, Karma is an unsolicited teacher that teaches lessons but is not a terrorist.
On mission accomplished, the invocation of mystic journey, the thoughts it imparts I humbly share with,
" Your Excellency " and "Honourable":
" Today is Yesterday's Tomorrow.
Are you moving forward in thoughts and conduct?".
God Bless Humanity.
God Bless Nigeria.
