Tinubu wins APC presidential ticket
Tinubu scored 1271 votes to emerge winner beating Hon.Rotimi Amaechi and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to second and third position respectively.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged the presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) beating 14 other aspirants to clinch the party's ticket for the 2023 presidential elections at the party convention, which kicked off in Abuja on Tuesday, spilling into Wednesday. The Chairman of the Electoral Management Committee and Returning Officer, Governor Atiku Bagudu declared Bola Tinubu as the winner of the elections and the presidential flagbearear of the APC.
He scored 1271 votes to emege winner beating Mr Rotimi Amaechi who came second with 316 votes. Third in the race is Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who scored 235 votes. Senate President, Ahmad Lawan obtained 152 votes taking the fourth position.
Governor Yahya Bello of Kogi State received 47 votes while Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State scored 38 votes, Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State got 37 votes. Emeka Nwajiuba got 1 vote while Senator Ahmed Sani scored 4 votes. Also, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Rochas Okorocha, Tien Jack Rich got 0. Dr Ogbonnaya Onu scored 1 vote.
Seven aspirants withdrew from the race in support of the candidacy of Bola Tinubu.
Former Minister of the Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio and former Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun stepped down for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Also, Governor Kayode Fayemi stepped down and urged his supporters to vote for Tinubu.
Former Speaker Dimeji Bankole also stepped down for Tinubu. Governor of Jigawa State Mohammed Badru and Senator Ajayi Borrofice stepped down for Tinubu. The only female aspirant Uju Ken-Ohanenye also stepped down for Tinubu.
The youngest aspirant Nicholas Felix stepped down for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The convention was witnessed by President Muhammadu Buhari and the First Lady Aisha Buhari. The Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila was also in attendance.
Those who contested for party's ticket include Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; former Transportation Minister, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi; Governors Dave Umahi (Ebonyi) and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Also, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi, Governor Dave Umahi and Governor Ben Ayade and Ogbonnaya Onu participated in the election. However, Chief Emeka Nwajiuba was absent at the party primaries, even though he was on the ballot.
